Miss Kaitlin Boelman
Kaitlin began her dance training at the age of five under the direction of Ms. Sheri Baum at Dance With Me Studio. She trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, and specialized in tap technique during her thirteen years as a student.
While attending the University of Northern Iowa, she continued training in ballet, jazz, and tap, while expanding her repertoire to include modern, clog, ballroom, and various folk styles under the direction of Daniel Wells and Jason Schadt.
Kaitlin was also a member of IDT Dance Company and Orchesis Dance Company, becoming president and vice president, respectively. As a member of these companies, she was able to choreograph at the collegiate level, attend four American College Dance Association conferences, and travel North America to perform, including a series of performances at the second largest Oktoberfest in the world in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada in October 2013.
Kaitlin began teaching for Jeune Attente Dance Company in August 2012 and taught for the company until purchasing DWM in 2017. Following her graduation from UNI in 2015, we were fortunate to have her return to Dance With Me Studio as an instructor and choreographer for the studio, as well as our DWM Competition Team.
Kaitlin has received several awards for her instruction and choreography, but she tells us that her greatest reward comes in the form of the bright smiles and tight hugs her dancers bring her each week.
